• This camera is about the basics of photography, I know 6 megapixel is already a dinosaur when it comes to the technology of newer cameras of today. But, my point is that learning the necessity of taking pictures without any technology that can help a photographer is like taking a 35mm film camera. The images are still at par when it comes to quality plus the look of every shot is very film-like which I really about the ccd sensor compared to the newer cmos sensor. Oh well, I\'m only just reminiscing the basics of a digital camera. Because taking great photos is only is on the mind but the camera itself is only a name in a box
• My first three digital cameras were Canon. I still own a Canon G3, but when the ist DS came out I was interested.I did my research on the Canon Rebel and the Nikon D70 and the Pentax and after all was said and done I chose the Pentax! I am very happy with the camera.It is much smaller size than the others and seems very solid. Pentax lenses are also cheaper than similar Canon and Nikon lenses (You are paying for their marketing efforts). Also Pentax lenses from 30 years ago can be used with this camera.Pictures thus far are excellent and I work with it each day. I enter many photo contests and this camera holds it own!
• The sensor has a nice quality about it..very film-like. Received this in excellent shape and has worked flawlessly. 6mp is fine for general photography.
• I HAVE A PENTAX ME-SUPER CAMERA AND SOME GREAT LENSES (WIDE ANGLE-TELEPHOTO-PORTRAIT) THAT I BOUGHT IN THE 80\'S AND HAVE BEEN USING THIS 35MM FILM CAMERA FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. WELL, I WAS COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT I COULD USE THESE SAME LENSES ON MY NEW PENTAX DIGITAL \"IST\" CAMERA ALSO WITH JUST SOME QUICK ADJUSTMENTS ON THE \"IST\" CAMERA. I AM NOW LIVING, AND LOVING, THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS WITH MY TWO PENTAX CAMERA\'S !
• Owning a Pentax SFX SLR with multiple zoom lens, fixed lens, Super Flash, filters and various additional attachments, going to the *ist was a no brainer. Now I can travel with the best of both worlds and use much of the fine equipment collected over the years. I can say the \'old\' film camera lens and flash works with the \'new\' digital camera with nary a hitch. I can carry a single battery source for both cameras. Photos come out as expected. Pentax steady preditable quality continues.
• Sturdy, well built but does not take cards higher than 512 MB, for today standards it is not functional. I returned the item but have not heard from the supplier. I have a nice Pentax Macro lens waiting for a good body.
• Good price, works well. Pentax is a great body lots of lens are available.
• Arrived quickly and in great shape! Perfect camera for hiking since I can use my Pentax lenses.
