Bought this USED at a great price, so expected some wear....but there were almost no visible signs of use.BUT, there were UNMENTIONED ISSUES.Someone seems to have tinkered with the viewfinder and the hotshoe -- there were pieces loose on the hotshoe, and the viewfinder\'s internal focusing mechanism is misaligned, so that there is always some part of the viewfinder\'s internal LCD screen out-of-focus.These things should have been honestly mentioned in the description.Even so, it\'s hard to feel completely cheated, since everything else about this camera works exactly as new.I used it to take pictures of the eclipse, so I wouldn\'t have to chance ruining my \"good\" camera...which is one of the exact same model.This was the last \"super-zoom\" model Fujifilm made that accepts everyday drugstore AA batteries.You can use rechargeable AA\'s, as well.The camera requires 4 batteries, and takes hundreds of pictures on an average set of alkalines.[Consumer reports tested 93 brands of AA alkaline batteries....\"Walgreens\" alkalines came in at number 93....so don\'t use those; I know from experience.]The Sunbeam batteries sold 4-for-a-dollar at Dollar Tree work great in this camera.This camera has a \"manual focus\" feature, which -- though it is NOT strictly \"manual\" -- still is better than having nothing but auto-focus options.Speaking of the auto-focus, it\'s pretty dependable.The camera allows RAW shooting, but RAW editing must be done outside the camera.The things you can do with this camera are endless.It lacks WiFi. Oh, well.No GPS. Who cares?Original retail price was $599.00....but that was in 2011, and the price has come down a lot.No one should be still paying (or charging) anything close to the original price on this item.It had dropped to $499.00 by about 18-months after release (when newer models arrived), and has dropped several times since then.I think I checked it out on the DPReview (DPR) website at the time.
Bought this used in 2016. My son is rough on equipment and this cam keeps up with him. It has all the features described and works as well as the new ones
The camera I purchased was used and had shutter issues. I purchased for a graduation. The photos came out over exposed on one then fine on another. The display showed clear and sharp but the actual pics were bad.
My Lens was cracked. Did not open box untIL early this week because of my busy schedule...plus the carruser bag that came with it has a busted zipper. So I\'m frustrated.
