Nikon Z50 Compact Mirrorless Digital Camera with Flip Under Selfie/Vlogger LCD, Body
- Love this camera. It\'s great for walking around, it\'s lightweight and very intuitive. For higher quality portraits and more artistic shots I\'ll grab my Z6 but the format of the Zmount lenses are worlds better than the f mount. I appreciate the fact that there are more z-mount lenses coming out. Overall extremely satisfied with this little camera. Only issue I have is batteries drain faster than I would like but that is easily cured with the two pack of the Wasabi batteries.
- This item worked well and took good pictures. It is very small and lightweight. However, mirrorless cameras have some drawbacks and are not for me. Battery life is the biggest one, but there are others. I went back to a regular DSLR camera. I no longer own this camera.
- After my DSLR died, I decided to make the move to mirrorless and since I already have a good set of Nikon DX (crop sensor) lenses, the Z50 was a natural choice for me. I highly recommend this for beginners or advanced enthusiasts who want to move to mirrorless. This camera comes with a lot of features that used to be only on the pro cameras. Of course the pro cameras still have new features that the Z50 doesn\'t have, but I really like having access to things like eye auto focus, animal auto focus, horizon level, user programmable settings, and programmable quick function buttons. Even the (i) menu system is now configurable. The transition from DSLR to mirrorless has been very smooth although I am still learning.
- I have owned a Z7 for a couple of years and tried the Z50 a couple of different times. The kit lens that come with the camera are outstanding. I kept them for my Z7 for travel and backpacking. The Z50 shoots great video. However, I am not able to get consistent sharp photos with the Z50. Out of ten shots taken 3-4 would be out of focus. I think this is due to my right thumb touching the touch screen on the back which zooms things. I sent it back both times, but I would keep the Z50 for the videoing alone.
- This crop sensor version of the Nikon Z6/Z7 is amazing. i use this as a backup to my full frame Z7 and it doesnt seem like much of a compromise. Although the sensor is only 20.6mp, images are tack sharp, even when reasonably cropped. Color, clarity are top notch using the reasonably priced kit lenses too. It is SMALL, but ergonomics are very good. This is gong to be my go-to for travel/walking around. With a Z7 and this Z50, my travel bag just got cut by 50% in size and weight compared to \"the old days\" of just last year when I carried 2 DSLRs and corresponding lenses (both camera and lens were much bigger/heavier). The Nikon Z system is truly amazing.
- I own a Z6, D750 and several lenses. I tested the Z50 the two kit lenses and was really surprised at how sharp these little lenses are. I put the FTZ adapter and mounted it on my Nikon 70-200 2.8E and I was shocked at how clean and clear the Z50 is. It was hard to see any difference to the Z6 cropped the the same frame size. The feel of it just makes me smile and the pancake (24-70 equivalent) is a blast to walk around with. This is a APS-C body, it absolutely blows away Fuji, had the X-T1&2, this kills them. Not even close.Outstanding job Nikon, another home run!
- There is a lot to like about this camera. It is compact and the image quality is excellent. However, there was one issue that drove me nuts. If you\'re using image review to see your shots, the viewfinder blacks out before the image appears, and then blacks out again when you half press to get rid of it. It is a good long pause too, enough to be very distracting and to prevent you from reshooting quickly. I also have an Oly EM10 Mark II, and the transition from image review to reshoot on that camera is basically instantaneous. In the end, this became super annoying and I reluctantly returned the Z50.
- I bought this camera to vlog, photograph, and webcam because this camera was made for \"vloggers\" with the flip down screen and then I discover the damn thing doesn\'t charge while recording through USB or HDMI, what the hell! I can understand that Nikon and other manufactures don\'t provide mic output through USB and that\'s okay because I would rather use my own mic.I should have bought this through Amazon so that I could return this garbage for a Canon. Charging while recording/webcam is basic functionality and is unacceptable for a company that has been around for ages. This was my first and last time I buy Nikon and will be taking my money to a better company like Sony or Canon in the future.
