- Sept. 2017 Update: Name one digital camera that has almost doubled in price in the last two or three years! I bought mine Last Jan. 2016. I paid about $400. Then Samsung discontinued. Rather than going into the dusbin, the camera sells for far more than $400 now. Word is out among users that this camera is especially useful. I also use the Canon Sl1 and the Canon G15. This camera consistently does a better job than the Sl1---which has a bigger sensor, and many features. But it\'s a user\'s nightmare to navigate.The Camera 2 has tons of features, but they never get in the way of picture taking. The pictures are simply superior--without all the fuss. This will become my favorite travel and walking around camera. it easily fits in the front pocket of my travel pants.October: 2016 From the perspective of retired photo teacher who travels in Europe. All of the comments seem spot-on and useful. I have not yet taken the Camera on a trip. But here are a couple of thoughts.One. Know what it is before you buy. It\'s not a street-shooting camera. It has few manual controls. For those features look at advanced compact cameras like the Canon G series or similar. (or better yet, a Nikon manual film camera.)Two. It\'s a very fun camera for sitting in a cafe (with wifi), reviewing your shots, picking and light editing, and emailing to friends or social media. The screen makes that enjoyable. The on-device Connectivity opens another world for photography.The picture quality is fine for full screen laptop viewing. I will update after I get back from Italy.
- ok so i am by no means a photographer BUT I am a tech junkie who has more gadgets then i know what to do with lol. This being said my review is from the stand point of the average guy. First the camera is sharp and looks amazing. The pictures come out very nice and are very high quality. When i have them printed at cvs or walmart they look so so much better than the pictures my wife and i take with our phones (LGG4 and Note5). The fact that this camera runs android is so so helpful. First you have full access to the app store so you can download apps to edit your pictures, specialty camera apps and all your social media apps. If you have a wifi connection you can upload your pictures directly to instagram, facebook, snapchat or any other social media site. You can also email the pictures directly from the camera. To me the most important part of this camera having android is that i can easily back up my pictures anywhere i have a wifi connection. I use an app called folder sync and with a few taps i can have the entire pictures folder uploaded to my google drive or drop box. This comes in handy because if your sd card goes bad or your camera is lost or stolen you will not lose any of your pictures. I also like that the camera will work and take pictures (Not many 2gb worth) if your sd card goes bad or if you forget it plugged into your computer. The one thing they could improve on is the flash mechanism. The flash itself works great and as soon as you hit the flash button it pops right out but putting the flash back in the camera needs to be done smoothly. you have to gently push it back in or you may break it but if a beastly oaf like my self can do it anyone can lol. all in all i love this camera and would never buy another camera without android os and all the features that come with android.
- Really haven\'t used this all that much yet. Got it for a trip. I\'ll have to see how it goes after that. I do love that it is so similar to my Samsung Note phone. If you know how to use that phone, you pretty much know how to use this. People ask me, \"Why not just use your phone, then?\" Well, this has so many more features! I love that (with WiFi) I can post pictures to FB and email pictures. This is more like using a camera than my phone is - the way you hold it, etc. I do wish it had a viewer v just a screen, but I\'ll make do. As with all Samsung devices, it does hang up at times. I have to do a re-start to get it going again. This hasn\'t happened too many times, but it does happen. It takes awesome pictures.
- (Edit) An update has resolved the credential loss issue. I am very happy with this camera now!The Google account is forgotten or lost by the device on a consistent and continuing basis.I love this camera, it has so much potential. It takes beautiful photos, the image stabilization is impressive and the size is just right for a pocket camera.Sadly all of this potential falls apart when you have to log back into your Google account wait for your apps to sync and remove the ones you don\'t want every few days. Then you have to edit your sync settings because you don\'t want all your Google services sending notifications to your camera. This has been an issue for months with no resolution in site.If you want a great camera and don\'t use any Google services this might be perfect for you. If you want a great camera and don\'t mind dealing with having to add your account back into the device and spend about 5 minutes fiddling with settings then you too might love this device like myself.If you are going to be driven crazy by this cameras inability to remember your Google account for more than a few days then you might want to look elsewhere.It really is too bad because this camera in combination with Google+ photo back up with Autoawesome and Stories is amazing.
