- The Nikon Z 50 was listed in the description as being sold by Amazon with a week delivery timeframe. Within three hours of placing the order, I received an email that the camera was shipped from a dealer in NYC with one day delivery. Can’t complain about that! But after reading the email more closely, I saw that it was listed as being’Used, like new’ condition with a one year dealer warranty. But the lenses were listed as being new. I rechecked the description and Nowhere was it listed as being a used or restored item, and it was being sold at the same price as other Z50 cameras, and nowhere was this dealer listed as being the seller. So either the description was deceptive, or Amazon transferred it out to the dealer. That being said, the camera arrived in a Nikon package with all required items, neatly packed except for the warranty card. If I hadn’t read the email listing it as being used, I wouldn’t have known the difference. The camera was in great shape, no scratches or blemishes, and works great. So was it a returned item, or just taken out of the box for a customer viewing, I don’t know. I’m pleased with the camera and will keep it, but I’m just upset that it was not listed as being sold used by a dealer, instead of being listed as being new from Amazon. So be aware that items delivered may not be as listed in the description.
- Ok so in all honesty, I took a photography basics class last night to learn something about how to use my camera. I\'m used to taking out my iphone, snapping a picture, and voila. This is more of a \"what is that dial for?\" - \"Where do you turn it on?\" \"Wait, there\'s a menu - with like 100 options!\" I mean, by the sounds of the people in my class it\'s a great camera, but I just think there is going to be a HUGE learning curve I was not anticipating. If you\'re not super knowledgeable about shutter speed, and aperture, and ISO and the other million options you can do with a camera like this, I would definitely recommend taking a camera basics class. Like 10 times. There\'s A LOT!
- I\'ve been looking for a smaller go-anywhere camera as an alternative to my bigger full-frame DSLR. For me the field includes the Nikon Z50, Panasonic GX9, Fujifilm X-T30, and Olympus E-M5 (all comparable in size, resolution, and features). I would highly recommend the Z50 to any first-time mirrorless user. Its pros include:+ Lens sharpness and image quality as good as or better than anything in the 20 megapixel range+ Great handling and beautiful viewfinder+ Lenses cover a big range with compact size and weight (definitely buy the kit with both lenses)+ Absolutely fantastic value for moneyI really, REALLY wanted the Z50 to work out for me but as an enthusiast I couldn\'t quite get over the lens selection. The two lenses in the kit are the only ones practical to use for at least a few years. There are no other Z DX lenses and the only one on the roadmap falls within the same range (no wide angle zoom or primes are planned). The Z50 has no in-body stabilization so other Z lenses won\'t benefit from stabilization, and using any other Nikon lens requires an adapter, increasing cost and bulk. When the Nikon Z DX offering matures -- maybe with a Z70 that includes stabilization -- I will eagerly consider it again in a few years.
- The Z50 is small, nice and small, with good physical controls and frankly fantastic kit lenses. I hope and pray they give us a few fast Dx primes one day, but the 16-250 mm range of the 2 lenses, with very light weight and outstanding optics make me happy. I do like the fact that one mount will service Dx and Fx sensors, as it is with other mounts out there. I am at home with Nikon ergonomics, they make sense to me. Images are more than brilliant. I haven\'t felt this much satisfaction in a long time. Whatever they have done with this 20 Mpx sensor, they\'ve done it right. Incredibly low noise and the airplane photo shown is a 50% crop. I am so happy that this all fits in my fanny pack as I walk around no one knows what\'s in it. The autofocus video, which i don\'t use much, is still better than I was able to get out of an a6400 - in continuous. Bottom line, this works, is very affordable, gives great image quality and I want MORE Dx .... More, do you hear Nikon, MORE Dx on Z mount.
- takes amazing pictures and videos have had a couple bugs and there but easy to fix but would recommend to anyone getting into photography or video making would recommend
- I am new to the world of mirrorless cameras so I don\'t have anything to compare it to. I purchased it because I wanted a camera with a better optical sensor than my point-and shoot and with some different lens options. It needed to be small and lighter weight with a simple interface so I can hike with it and take pictures on the go. The Z50 fit my criteria and my budget. I am happy with the quality of photos I get with it. The 2 lenses that come with the package retract to a shorter length which makes them nice for fitting in my backpack. This camera is probably not sophisticated enough for a professional photographer but would be good for the amateur.
- Its best for this price rangeI liked how it is very simple to useWeightless , portable, and honetly battery is good!
- I was wanting a mirrorless camera for a very long time, and I finally caved and got this one. It is a great camera and I love everything about it.
