Canon EOS M Compact System Camera - Body Only (White)

  • I make collage art and build models and dioramas. These three things taught me along the way that I needed to learn to take better photographs, and so I started early with a Canon Powershot and then moved on a few APSC sensor Canon cameras I love and have in my collection along with a plethora of Canon prime lenses. This is all fine, but I\'ve wanted to have a more portable camera and so, given the fact that I already have all the glass I would ever need (well, you can never have too much glass!), I decided to research the CANON EOS M over on YOUTUBE (big mistake). All the YOUTUBE reviews on this camera make it seem like it was DOA. And that is NOT TRUE. I\'ve owned this camera now for a couple of weeks and I love it. Simply love it. With the lens adaptors I can try out and experiment with all my lenses, and it is so much fun. For the price, this camera is not only a great bargain but it is simply the right choice if you are already a Canon user. I loved the quality of the pictures (I haven\'t had any problems with the infamous focus--remember I use mine 99% of the time on a tripod shooting art on a table top) and the quality of the videos. I love it so much in fact I bought a second one. I don\'t particularly care how late Canon got to the mirrorless camera party (to use a common expression being thrown around the different communities), the bottom line is that the camera performs well for my needs and sometimes that is the right approach to take. WHAT DO YOU WANT THE CAMERA TO DO FOR YOU? How are you going to use it. It\'s a basic question, and with me once I did my research and found found the answer, the Canon EOS M rose to the occasion. My advice to prospective buyers is to do the research on the ground. Go and check out the camera at a store and get a feel for it. (Mine, BTW, came with the firmware up grade of 2.0.2.)
  • These five stars should really be directed towards Magic Lantern as this camera NEEDS to have better manual focus controls (focus peaking etc.). The AF is a total waste, and ISO performance is terrible above 3200. However, this little guy is still great fun to use (with Magic Lantern). Stellar images in well lit environments, and absolutely no overheating problems while recording videos. I\'ve done hours of videos back to back with zero heat issues. That\'s amazing!Here\'s hoping the virtues of mirrorless photography permeate future Canon bodies!
  • I got my camera 2 months ago and im just now getting to try it out. I bought it used but the listing said it was in perfect working condition. I should have just bought a new model and avoided all this. The shutter will not stop clicking. Even when I turn the camera off and let it sit, it just keeps doing sensor cleaning until the battery dies. I tried to take this camera to a concert last weekend and the thing died before I could even use it because it kept doing sensor cleaning when it was off and I didn\'t realize it was draining the battery. Basically, the battery dies very fast unless I open the battery door and manually take out the battery. Photos won\'t work either and I can only take brief video on this camera before the shutter starts malfunctioning and that\'s not why I bought it. Its a piece of crap.
  • My camera came BRAND NEW with everything as advertized in a white box.THRILLED.THANK YOU
  • I really enjoy this small camera , it\'s amazing for pictures and videos .It\'s wonderful
  • For those of you wanting a review of the performance, refer to the black edition of this camera. It\'s essentially the same. The white edition is slightly different from the Black in its make and materials. I personally preferred the black as it had a matte finish which looks and feels classier than the glossy white. The white edition also has a funky texture on the sidewalls which the black edition didn\'t seem to have. It makes the white version look a little more \'cheaper.\' When you look at the bottom of the camera, you\'ll also notice the gaps a little more on the white. The white screams, \"Look at me, I\'m an newbie shooter whereas the black is more subsided.It\'s both made of some sort of metal and you won\'t be disappointed with its build quality. I\'ve already had my black EOS M dropped from knee length and it came out with only a few dents, not a crack like if it were plastic. The build will rival many Pro/Semi Pro DSLR bodies.
